What is it that makes some people seem so positive, so happy in themselves? Are they just lucky, or have they learned some lessons that we need to pay attention to?
1. Positive people live in the present.
Living in the past breeds discontent. People who love life move on from their mistakes, they learn from them but don’t stay stuck in their failure. They also don’t rest on their laurels. Each day brings a new opportunity, and they are ready to jump on it.
2. They surround themselves with positive people.
Nothing is a bigger downer than being with negative, whiny people. Positive energy feeds on positive energy. People who love life know this, and limit or eliminate time spent with negative people. They strive to bring positivity to their relationships and connections but are willing to move on from those who drag them down.
3. Positive people value themselves.
This means taking care of their body, mind, and soul. They take the time to be still, to disconnect, and feed their spirit. Positive people refuel their body by eating well and getting regular exercise. They feed their mind by continuing to learn and grow as a person, and in their area of expertise. Positive people know their intrinsic value and don’t constantly wait for others to validate them.
4. They move forward.
Input from others is important and valuable. Positive people listen to their trusted friends and colleagues, but they don’t try to make everyone happy. Positive people make decisions and move forward on projects. They are focused on a few things that move the needle, and they eliminate non-essential time wasters.
5. Positive people push down walls.
Positive people push back boundaries. They are not afraid of venturing outside of their comfort zone. Positive people take calculated risks. They are open to enlarging their thinking and refuse to be confined by conformity.
6. They make lemonade from lemons.
Even the most successful people have bad days. Days when it seems nothing is going according to plan, and everything seems to be conspiring to sabotage the best efforts. However, people who love what they do see these days as opportunities to learn, to figure out why an approach is not working, knowing that when they do they will be wiser and better equipped to move to the next step.
7. Positive people give back.
Loving what you do is more than just making money, or about you the individual. People who love life want to share it with others. They want to give back in teaching, coaching, and empowering others to grow and to dream. Positive people leave a legacy that keeps on going long after they are gone.
Do you love life? Do you want to love your life? Can you incorporate some of these attributes into your life right now? What would be your first one? Why?
